I would like to share my views on some of the best movies i ever came across. Movies that required tremendous research and whose making needed a lot of sweating. Ofcourse, every film puts on a lot of hardwork in its making. Its the talent of editors and sound engineers that creates an edible impact on the audience. Technology does the job nowadays'. During the 70's and 90's when technology had a little role to play in film making, directors like Alfred Hitchcock, Woody Allen, William Wyler, Howard Hawks, Steven Speilberg, Satyajit Ray and many more had nothing but creativity and hardwork to get the best of the results. And indeed, some of the fantastic masterpieces where made during this time. Psycho(1960), which is one of the most top rated thriller's of all time had hardly any visual effects. Once you watch this, some of the scenes will remain in you forever. It has one of the best art of cinematography and sound mixing embedded to it.
In the categories of war & biography, Schindler's List(1993) is a must watch on par with 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'Der Untergang'. This movie was suggested by one of my friends and had never heard of this academy award winning Speilberg movie before. The best of its kind 3hour rolling hollywood movie I ever saw. Speilberg has given it everything. A masterwork. When it comes to action and crime, it's Quentin Tarantino who top's my list. Brilliant director and actor of Audacious, Off-Beat violent films of the 90's. 'Pulp Fiction' and 'The reservoir dogs' have a rating of 10 for direction from me.
